I've collected a lot of soccer player jerseys over the years - if you're a soccer fan like me, their talent (and good looks!) is something to admire. But even though the new youngsters are impressing on the pitch, no one, at least in my opinion, comes close to Lionel Messi.
Neymar has flash, Hector Bellerin has style. But Messi - Messi's presence is unmatched by other players. It's about the way he moves. Messi is like a ghost on the pitch. He floats more gracefully than any other player. Don't mind the constant comparisons between Messi and Ronaldo (I'm the exact opposite of a Ronaldo fan); the likes of Mo Salah, Antoine Griezmann (two of my favourites) and Harry Kane Players can score goals one after another, but they don't move like Messi when they score.

So of course I was ecstatic when I learned that one of the greatest players in the world had entered into a partnership with Jacob & Co. to create a series of limited edition timepieces. There's nothing sweeter than my favorite interests colliding.
The collaboration is expected to last for three years and will see the launch of several watches designed in collaboration with Lionel Messi. The first: Epic x Chrono Messi watch.
Now, there's something for watch lovers: the first model features a polished grade 5 titanium case, anti-reflective sapphire glass, white ceramic chronograph bezel and pushers, titanium and blue rubber lugs, and red rubber Crown. Water resistant to 200 meters and shock resistant. The case back reveals the watch's automatic twin-cam skeletonized chronograph movement, complete with column wheel and 48-hour power reserve.
For a watch lover like me, I just think it looks really good. There are elements of the Argentine flag (the player's home country), as well as the prominently displayed number 10 (Messi's number) and his logo (the stylized M on the dial). (I didn't even know he had a logo, but of course he does.) On the back is the star's signature. For those football fans who also like watches (or maybe the other way around?), this is a must.
